Clayton Twitchell
Thomas Clayton Twitchell (1864–1947) was an English Anglican bishop in the 20th century. He was educated at King's College London〔''University Intelligence London'' The Times Monday, 31 Jul 1882; pg. 10; Issue 30573; col C〕 and ordained in 1889.〔The Times, Tuesday, 24 Dec 1889; pg. 6; Issue 32890; col A ''Ordinations. Carlisle''〕 His first posts were curacies at St George’s, Barrow-in-Furness〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Photo of church )〕 and St Peter’s, Cranley Gardens. From 1903 to 1908 he was Vicar of All Hallows East India Docks〔(Parish history )〕〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=London Gazette )〕 when he was appointed Bishop of Polynesia〔The Times, Friday, 20 Mar 1908; pg. 13; Issue 38599; col C ''New Bishop in Polynesia''〕 a post he held for 13 years.
